Man Arrested For Threatening To Kill Girlfriend

On March 17th, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Redding Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2400 block of Nebula Street. Officers learned Arlend J. Bonsey, 49 years old, of Redding was in an argument with his girlfriend/victim and her two daughters.

The victim reported Bonsey had been drinking alcohol and making threats to shoot them. Furthermore, the victim warned officers that Bonsey armed himself with a firearm. Upon arrival, Officers telephoned Bonsey and tried to negotiate with him. Bonsey ultimately exited his residence and was detained by Officers. The gun was located in the property.

As a result of the investigation, Officers confirmed Bonsey attempted to load the firearm while threatening to kill the victim. Bonsey also battered the victim earlier in the evening.  He was arrested for terrorist threats and domestic battery.  He was then booked into the Shasta County Jail.
