Drugs and Loaded/stolen handgun seized in traffic stop

On March 16th, 2019 at approximately 1:30 A.M., Redding Police Officer J. Provencio conducted a traffic stop for multiple traffic violations. The driver who was identified as Stephanie Nichole Madigan 30 years of Redding appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Officer Provencio noticed a small plastic baggie containing heroin, sitting in her lap and he discovered she was driving on a suspended license. It was ultimately determined that Madigan was under the influence of multiple drugs and was in possession of another small plastic baggie containing additional drugs.


A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Robert Duane Clark, 53 years of Redding. He is currently on probation for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was  searched as a term of his probation and found to be in possession of 2.1 grams of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine smoking pipe.  He was arrested and booked for those charges as well as a probation violation.


Officers also located a loaded, stolen handgun during a search of the vehicle. Madigan was determined to have been in possession of the handgun.


Madigan was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of  controlled substances and carrying a concealed/loaded firearm in a vehicle.
