Update to Traffic Collision on Highway 273

 

On April 29, 2019, Redding Police officers were dispatched to an injury roll-over traffic collision on Highway 273 at Westwood Avenue.  At the time of the original press release, the names of occupants and their injuries were unknown.  Since the time of the collision all involved individuals have been identified and are listed below.

Mertin Weiser, age 37 of Anderson, was identified as the driver of the white GMC pickup.  He was determined at fault for the collision and is being investigated for possibly driving under the influence of alcohol.  Weiser suffered a serious injury and was transported to Mercy Hospital.  His passenger, Angela Dowd age 31 of Redding suffered a serious injury and was transported to Mercy Hospital.  His second passenger, Christina Williams age 34 of Redding suffered a minor injury and was transported to Shasta Regional Medical Center.  His third passenger was Keri Wilkes Nicholson, age 23 years of Anderson.  The extent of her injuries is unknown.

Monica Paulos Jevne, age 23 of Redding, was identified as the driver of the maroon Toyota  Scion.  She suffered a minor injury.

The original press release reported that a third vehicle was possibly involved.  It was determined only two vehicles were involved.
