Elderly woman is victim of a home invasion robbery

On Sunday, November 24th, 2019, at 2:16 A.M., a 79 year old female called 911 to report being the victim of a home invasion robbery in the 3000 block of Golf Dr. in Redding.  The Victim reported an unknown male entered her residence with a key he found in her vehicle, which was parked in her carport, and demanded the key to her vehicle and money from her wallet.  In fear for her life, the victim provided her property to the suspect and she was not harmed.  The suspect then ordered the victim into the back room of the residence as he fled the location in her vehicle.

The stolen vehicle is described as a white colored 2006 Honda CRV with California license plate 5XBR734.  The vehicle has two scratches to the front right fender, and breast cancer awareness and Santa Cruz stickers on rear window of vehicle.  The suspect is described as a white male adult with black collar-length curly hair, 5 feet 9 inches tall, medium build, unknown age, and was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

This incident is currently under investigation for the crimes of robbery, carjacking, burglary and elder abuse.  The Redding Police Department is looking for help from the public with information regarding the identity of the suspect and location of the stolen vehicle.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Redding Police Department at 530-225-4200.
