Attempted robbery of ampm store on Lake Boulevard

On December 26, 2019 at approximately 0705 hours, Redding Police Officers responded to a call of a possible robbery in progress at the ampm store located at the intersection of Lake Boulevard and Masonic Avenue. As officers responded, they were advised the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored Dodge SUV. An extensive check of the area was completed, but the suspect vehicle was not located. Officers learned the suspect brandished a pistol during the attempted robbery however the clerk did not hand over any cash prior to the suspect fleeing the store.

 

The suspect is described as a heavyset white male adult, approximately 6′ tall, wearing a black beanie cap, black shirt, and blue jeans. There is a photo of the suspect below. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black 2001 Dodge SUV. Anyone with information regarding the attempted robbery or the suspect’s identity is urged to contact the Redding Police Department.
