On December 26th, 2019 at approximately 4:27 PM, officers from the Redding Police Department responded to the Dollar General Store, located at 3675 Meadowview Drive for a report of a robbery. Employees on scene reported that a male suspect entered the store and showed a note demanding money from the register. An undisclosed amount of money was taken by the suspect who fled the scene in a Honda Civic. No employees or customers were injured during the robbery. During the course of the investigation police identified the license plate number of the suspect vehicle.
At approximately 8:07 PM, Redding Police Officer Jacob Ruiz spotted the suspect vehicle parked in the area of Churn Creek Road and Denton Way. Officers contacted the suspect, who was identified as Devin Michael Martinez (28 years old of Redding). Officers searched Martinez’ vehicle and located stolen cash and a robbery note. A clerk from the store identified Martinez as the robbery suspect. Martinez was placed under arrest for robbery and was booked at the Shasta County Jail. A photo of Martinez is attached below.
