On December 20, 2019 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Officers with the Redding Police Department responded to South Market Street, north of Angelo Avenue, regarding a possible hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived in the area, they located the victim, who was lying out of the roadway. The victim was pronounced deceased by medical personnel, who arrived at the scene. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle, which left the location after the collision.
Evidence at the scene suggests that the front or side window of the suspect vehicle shattered after the collision.
At this time, the victim has not been identified, and there is no description of the suspect vehicle.
