On 12/13/19 at 3:02 PM, a teen was walking on the side walk of N. Court Street as he was going home from school. A Dodge truck traveling southbound on N. Court Street drove onto the sidewalk colliding with the teen. The driver fled the scene leaving the teen severely injured and lying on the side of the roadway. A passing motorist attempted to stop the truck from fleeing, but was unsuccessful.
Redding Police officers located video surveillance of the vehicle moments after the Hit and Run Collision. The vehicle is described as an early 2000’s Dodge 2500 truck. The truck is dark blue, has a tool box in the bed and a sticker in the upper left rear window. The passenger side mirror was damaged during the collision. Pictures of the vehicle have been made available.
The teen has undergone multiple surgeries and is recovering at home. Officers will continue to actively investigate this incident.
