Passing of Retired K-9 Chyr

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Retired Police K-9 Chyr. Chyr and his handler, Officer Nick Weaver, served the citizens of Redding from November of 2012 to April of 2019.

During that time Chyr located hundreds of violent criminals and was assigned to the Redding Police Department S.W.A.T. Team. After Chyr’s retirement Officer Weaver was assigned to the Investigation division.
