NEWS RELEASE
February 11th 5:00 AM
CASE#20R009692
On February 10th at approximately 11:59 PM, Officer Tim Jaegel conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. He contacted the driver who was identified as Michael Brookshire, 36 years of Redding. Officer Jaegel discovered that Brookshire is currently on Post Release Community Supervision, commonly known as PRCS. PRCS is a form of supervision provided to an offender who has been released from a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (Prison) institution to the jurisdiction of a county agency (Probation) pursuant to the Post Release Community Supervision Act of 2011.
Due to Brookshire having a search clause as a term of his release, Officer Jaegel conducted a search of the vehicle he was driving. During this search, he located a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun which was reported stolen out of Alabama. The handgun was seized and Brookshire was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, convicted felon carrying a concealed firearm and a PRCS violation.
Over the past 13 months, Officer Jaegel is responsible for taking 9 firearms off the streets of Redding.
