Probation Search at Problem Residence Results in Narcotics Seizure and Arrest

On Monday, February 24th, 2020, at approximately 1:50 P.M., Redding Police Officers conducted a probation search in the 1900 block of Cameo Court in east Redding.  The location was known to officers from prior police responses, and the search was conducted in response to recent neighborhood complaints about the residence.

Upon arriving at the residence, officers contacted a total of 7 individuals.  During the search approximately 31 grams of methamphetamine was located along with a scale, packaging, cash, and narcotics paraphernalia.

A 13 year old female juvenile was located at the residence.  She was found to be living in deplorable conditions, and was being exposed to an environment where narcotics were being used and sold.

30 year old Ashley Christine Peterson was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of sales of methamphetamine, maintaining a residence where narcotics are used or sold, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and child abuse.

The 13 year old juvenile was removed from the residence and turned over to Children’s Services of Shasta County.
