Traffic stop leads to arrest for possession of drugs and a concealed firearm.

On February 27, 2020, a Redding Police Officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Officers contacted the driver who was identified as James Jackson, 60 years of Redding. Officer Ruiz discovered that Jackson was driving on a suspended license. A search of the vehicle revealed heroin, marijuana, scales, prescription drugs, $1,200 cash and a loaded 9 mm handgun.


Jackson was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of heroin for sale, felon in possession of a handgun, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.
