Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Guns, Bullets, High Capacity Magazine and Drug Paraphernalia

On July 11th, 2020 Officers Joseph Lensing and Joanna Bland were on patrol when they observed a green sedan with fictitious registration tabs driving on Cedars Rd. They conducted a traffic enforcement stop and contacted the driver, Christopher Collins, 34 years old of Redding.

Officers conducted a consensual search of Collins and located drug paraphernalia. A search of the car resulted in the discovery of a stolen AK-47 style rifle with a loaded 30 round magazine, a .45 caliber pistol with the serial number intentionally removed, and six .45 caliber pistol magazines of which a three were loaded.

Collins was booked for possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a high capacity magazine, altered registration tabs and drug paraphernalia.
