August 14, 2020                  4:00 p.m.

CASE# 20R051031

On August 13, 2020, Officers with the Redding Neighborhood Police Unit and Patrol Operations served a search warrant in the 1900 block of Cameo Court. City of Redding Code Enforcement also responded to assist with the investigation.

During the search warrant service, several subjects were contacted inside of the residence to include Ashley Peterson, 30 years of Redding, and Roy Girton, 54 years of Redding, who was located in the backyard.

Inside of the residence, officers located over 3 ounces of methamphetamine, packaging material, scales, and drug paraphernalia.  Peterson was arrested and later booked into the Shasta County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sale.  Girton was cited and release for drug paraphernalia.

This is the fourth time this residence has been investigated for illegal sales of drugs.  In February of 2019, the Neighborhood Police Unit investigated the location after receiving complaints about ongoing drug sales.  A search warrant was served, and two individuals were located inside the residence.   During a search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located, and two subjects were arrested for various drug-related charges.

In October of 2019, the Neighborhood Police Unit responded to the location and conducted a probation search, after again receiving complaints regarding drug sales.  During that search, drug paraphernalia was located inside, and a subject was arrested for a drug-related offense.

In February of 2020, officers responded to the location to investigate additional complaints of drug sales.  While at the location, officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  One person was arrested for sales of methamphetamine, maintaining a residence where drugs are being sold, and child endangerment.

The Neighborhood Police Unit would like to thank the Community for their ongoing support and  will continue to target suspected drug dealers in the Redding area.
