On September 16, 2020 at approximately 10:10 P.M., Redding Police Officer Lovelady conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle violation. He contacted Tyson Farrell, 25 years of Redding and quickly discovered he is on PRCS, Post Release Community Supervision, for vehicle theft. A .17 caliber rifle was located in the vehicle and although the stock had been removed it was still a fully functional firearm. A small amount of heroin and a heroin smoking pipe were also located in the vehicle.
Officer Lovelady arrested Farrell and booked him into the Shasta County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs and driving without a license.
