Case Numbers:  20R065141, 20R065145, 20R065146

On October 4th, 2020 at 12:29 a.m., officers with the Redding Police Department responded to the AMPM business in the 2900 block of Bechelli Lane for the report of an armed robbery that occurred.  Upon arriving they contacted the store employee who stated two black males had robbed the store at gun point then fled the location on foot.  Officers collected evidence at the scene and searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

While that investigation was continuing, Shascom received another report of an armed robbery occurring at the AMPM business in the 100 block of Lake Boulevard.  As officers were responding they were given the description of the suspects which matched the suspects from the Bechelli Lane AMPM robbery.  After committing this robbery, the suspects fled the area in a silver sedan.  Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle.

Approximately 30 minutes later, Shascom again received a call of another armed robbery occurring at the AMPM business in the 4000 block of Railroad Avenue.  Officers immediately converged on the area at which point the suspect vehicle was observed.  Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on the vehicle but it failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated.  The vehicle attempted to elude officers during which time it collided with a barrier in the 1000 block of South Street.

After the collision, three subjects exited the vehicle, two of which fled on foot while the third stayed at the scene and complied with officers commands.  That subject was identified as Jeremy Ephriamdouglas Carter (20 years of Redding).  Officers immediately began searching the area for the two other occupants.  One of the occupants was quickly detained and found to be a juvenile.  The search for the second outstanding subject was unsuccessful.  He’s described as a black male adult, tall, average weight, with long dreadlock style hair with white tips.  A surveillance photo of the outstanding suspect is attached.

Both Carter and the juvenile were transported to the Redding Police Department’s Investigations Division.  After conducting interviews, Carter was booked for robbery and conspiracy.  The juvenile was booked into Shasta County Juvenile Hall for obstructing or delaying a peace officer.  The juveniles identity will not be released due to his age.

During each of the robberies, an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was taken.  Additionally, the vehicle used during the robberies was towed for evidence and is still be processed by the Redding Police Departments Investigations Division.

These series of robberies are still under investigation.  Anyone with information regarding the robberies or the identity of the outstanding suspect is asked to call the Redding Police Department Investigations Division at 530.225.4200 or contact Secret Witness of Shasta County at 530.243.2319.
