Redding Police seize loaded firearm during traffic stop

On October 29th, 2020; Redding Police Officer Tim Jaegel conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. He contacted the female driver identified as Wittnie Martin, 32 years of Weed, CA. and a male passenger  identified as Lor Shongching, 22 years of Dorris, CA.

Officer Jaegel and Officer Dustin Vega spotted drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle in plain view. In a subsequent search of the vehicle, Officer Vega located a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun with a full magazine in the back seat, near the location where Shongching was seated.

Martin was cited for possession of methamphetamine and a meth. pipe, pictured below. Shongching was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
